Dephemerember 2023: Butterfly & 3 Torn Things

More Dephemerember ephemera (say that three times fast!). The card I made for the first prompt “a butterfly and 3 torn things” uses a bird photo taken by my father.

Collaged card with a photo of a blue jay, scraps of blue and gold tissue paper, and monarch butterfly wings on the bird's back.
Journal card made from a photo by Don Dunsmore.

I added butterfly wings to the bird, thinking it was super clever because I’d never seen it done before. Then Luise did the same thing in her video for the “Nature’s Treasure” prompt.

Collaged journal card of blue jay and butterfly with paper extending out underneath it.
The card has folded paper on the back for extra writing space.

I like lost of writing space in my journals and a card like this will go in a pocket that takes up a whole page. So I put a long strip of note paper onto the back for writing.

Folded paper taped to the back of a journal card.
Reverse side of the journal card with all the note paper folded up.

Have you ever seen a bird with butterfly wings before?
