My two month hiatus from the blog flew past. I’m not quite ready to be back. It’s been forever since I last wrote a blog post and yet I could stay on break for a few more months with ease.
My big plan for the time away was to come up with a stunning new approach to the blog. I wanted to find an interesting theme or topic that would make it clear what I should write and would let you know what to expect, but I didn’t.
I read, I thought, I wrote, I read some more. I had a few fragmentary ideas, but I still haven’t figured out how to put them together into something that works.
During my blog break, I also remembered that I am interested in art journals and collage, and I discovered junk journaling, which has been around for a while but was new to me. YouTube is full of tutorials and flip-throughs that inspired me to make a journal of my own. (More about that next week.)
Clearly, how to approach my blog is not something I am going to solve in an instant. It’s a process, just like the contemplation I heard in a recent yoga class and put in the front of my new handmade journal:
When you change your thoughts, your feelings change, and that changes your life.
Yoga class contemplation
I want this year to be about change for the better, which is part of the reason I chose Sunny as my theme for 2021 . The trick is to identify the things I can do something about, and to be patient as I wait for my efforts to bring results.
What does all of this mean for the blog? I’m not currently sure. Only that I will keep coming back here and sharing the things I discover, make, and learn with you.
