I made a card from this quote a few weeks ago, thinking this was a good goal, that we should all try to spread our beautiful light during these difficult times.

People are like stained glass windows: they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Right now, it feels impossible. I am sick again. We got a nine day extension to our stay-at-home order this morning and I want to hide under the covers until everything is better. I have things I need to do that I do not feel like I can do. I have nothing left over for others.

Today is not my day to shine. But it may be yours. And if it isn’t, that’s okay, too.

We can share our light when the flame is burning bright within. And we can hide away while we coax some heat from the coals when it’s not.

How are you doing during these challenging times? If your fire is bright today, please share it with those who are feeling the darkness, either in the comments here, or on social media, or by phone.

And if you are one of the people feeling your fire’s gone out, be gentle with yourself. It will burn again. You just need time to fan your flame.
