You may have seen some of LordvonSchmitt’s art clothing elsewhere on social media, but when I found out you could actually own one of his afghans-turned-into-an-outfit, I had to share with everyone.

 

Originally a knitter, LordvonSchmitt realized he could make things faster if he started with afghans from thrift stores. He cuts and sews them into the clothing he makes, and I’m impressed. It’s hard to imagine how he finds afghans big enough to makes some of these outfits.

Old Lady: Those are the most hideous pants I have ever seen.

LordvonSchmitt: Oh, thanks! I made them myself.

It’s the most interesting use I’ve seen of crocheted afghans ever, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. These unique clothes are not for the timid, nor are they cheap. But if you want to make a statement, LordvonSchmitt is your man.
