I was already struggling with pain and fatigue when I hurt my foot. I thought I’d stepped on a shard of glass, but my dry foot had cracked naturally. I slathered my feet with hand cream and seemed fine. I would walk down the hall or across the kitchen without a problem. Then some step apparently no different than the others would result in stabbing pain. I would limp for a short while, then the cycle would start again. That’s when I learned about heel fissures.

For the 16th November in a row, I’m taking on NaNoWriMo*, and for the first time in ages, I’m not sure I can do it.
October wasn’t productive, for good reasons. On top of health and energy issues, two members of my household came down with COVID**, which stressed me out so much that there were days where I didn’t write at all. We’re still under quarantine, and my health is still bad, so it’s possible that I won’t be able to write for NaNoWriMo either.

Back in the spring, my insomnia got out of control. I was miserable; constantly exhausted, and yet unable to sleep. So I contacted a local sleep specialist and signed up for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.
